Columbus Area Information

The city of Columbus has a prospering economy and many recreational pursuits ranging from art museums and ballet companies to a water park and a zoo.

Ohio's capital and largest city, Columbus is one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the United States and has a population of over one million. Columbus is primarily Columbus, Ohio Skylinea service-industry community, and several Fortune 500 companies have headquarters here. The city has a thriving downtown, excellent restaurants, many extensive shopping centers, a symphony, a ballet company, theaters, museums, art galleries, an extensive park system, and a fine zoo. Two rivers and major reservoirs offer Columbus residents areas for boating, sailing, canoeing, water skiing, and fishing. If you are married you will discover that the Columbus economy offers a range of employment opportunities to your spouse. The University is the city's largest employer, and many graduate students' partners find work at the University or within the State government. Unlike many cities in the Northeast and Midwest, Columbus has primarily a white-collar workforce that enjoys a relatively low unemployment rate.
